About PETET

An entrance test built for one purpose — to take the cost of a college seat off a capable student's shoulders.

Who conducts PETET

PETET — the Purvanchal Educational Trust Entrance Test — is conducted by Purvanchal Educational Trust, a registered educational trust formed in 2021, with its registered office at Hakkabad, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh 273016, and working across the Purvanchal region.

The Trust runs the test for a single, narrow reason. In this region there are more students who can do the work than there are students who can pay for it, and the gap is rarely about ability. PETET is the Trust's way of measuring the ability and then removing the cost — through the Tuition Waiver Scholarship Program described below.

The test is open to students of class 11 and class 12 who plan to take admission in a Technical or a Non-Technical course. There is no coaching requirement, no exam centre to travel to, and no interview.

In short

  • Who can apply: Class 11 and class 12 students planning a Technical or Non-Technical course.
  • When: Any day of the year — registration is rolling, not date-bound.
  • Where: From home, on an Android phone or a computer with an internet connection.
  • What it decides: Your place in the Tuition Waiver Scholarship Program for the 2026 session.

Why PETET

Four things this test does differently from most entrance exams.

  • No exam date to wait for

Registration and the test are available every day of the year. You choose the day that suits your school schedule instead of the other way round.

  • No travel, no centre

The paper runs in your browser. A budget Android phone on a 4G connection is enough — there is no fee for travel and no day lost to it.

  • Result in two hours

Evaluation is automatic. Your score, subject-wise marks and qualification status reach your dashboard, your phone and your email within two hours of submitting.

  • Nothing to negotiate

One paper pattern, one answer key, one merit rule for everyone. The scholarship follows the score — there is no interview and no recommendation.

How the Tuition Waiver Scholarship Program works

Qualifying in PETET makes you eligible for a waiver on the tuition fee at a partner college.

What the waiver covers

The scholarship is a 100% waiver of the tuition fee charged by the partner college you are allocated to. There are no score bands or partial waivers: score 40 or more out of 100 in PETET 2026 and you receive the full waiver. Your scorecard states your qualification clearly.

Charges other than tuition — hostel, transport, university examination fees and similar — are set by the college and are not part of the waiver unless the college says otherwise.

Courses covered

PETET has two papers, and you choose one when you register.

Technical

B.Tech, Diploma, Polytechnic, BCA, MCA, Pharmacy, Nursing and B.Sc.

Non-Technical

BBA, B.Com, BA, B.Sc. (Non-Technical), B.A. LL.B., B.Ed. and MBA.

Both papers are the same length and are marked the same way. See the syllabus for the subject and topic split.

The merit process, step by step

Six steps from registration to a college seat. Nothing between them is discretionary.

  1. Step 1: Register and pay

Verify your mobile number, fill your details, choose Technical or Non-Technical, upload a photograph and a signature, and pay the examination fee. You get an application number immediately.

  2. Step 2: Take the test online

100 multiple-choice questions in 120 minutes. One mark for each correct answer and no negative marking, so an uncertain answer costs you nothing. Question and option order are randomised for every candidate.

  3. Step 3: Automatic evaluation

The paper is machine-evaluated against a single answer key. No human marks your paper, so no two candidates are marked differently.

  4. Step 4: Result within two hours

Your score, subject-wise marks, qualification status and — once enough candidates have taken the paper — your rank and percentile inside your own category and session. The scorecard is downloadable and carries a QR code anyone can verify.

  5. Step 5: Scholarship eligibility

Qualified candidates enter the Tuition Waiver Scholarship Program — a 100% waiver of the partner college's tuition fee.

  6. Step 6: Verification and college allocation

Upload your documents for verification, then the Trust allocates a seat at a partner college that offers your course. The waiver applies to the tuition fee at that college.

One attempt, and it is yours alone

Every registered candidate gets one attempt at the real PETET paper. The mock tests are separate practice papers drawn from a different question bank, and taking them — or skipping them — has no effect on your PETET score.

Partner colleges across India

The Tuition Waiver Scholarship Program is delivered through colleges that have a standing arrangement with Purvanchal Educational Trust, covering both Technical and Non-Technical courses in several states.

The full list of partner colleges for the 2026 session, with the courses each one offers, is published on this page as the tie-ups for the session are confirmed. If a college is not named here, it is not yet a partner — please do not rely on any other source.
