Who we are

Purvanchal Educational Trust ("the Trust", "we", "us", "our") is a registered educational trust formed in 2021, with its registered office at Hakkabad, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh 273016, India. The Trust conducts the Purvanchal Educational Trust Entrance Test (PETET) and operates this website, petet.org.in.

This policy explains what personal data we collect from candidates, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with and what rights you have over it. It reflects our obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

By registering for PETET you consent to the processing described below. You may withdraw that consent at any time using the contact details at the end of this page.

We also record the marketing campaign a visitor arrived from, and the internet address a registration was made from, to measure our advertising and to detect fraudulent sign-ups.

Payment information

We never see, receive or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking password. Payments are handled entirely on the infrastructure of our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. What reaches us is only the outcome of the payment: the amount, the date, the payment method type, and the gateway's reference number, which we keep so we can issue your receipt and answer any query about the transaction.

How we protect it

  • The whole site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
  • Your Aadhaar number is stored encrypted and is never displayed in full anywhere — in the candidate portal or the admin panel it appears only as the last four digits.
  • Your photograph and signature are stored on a private disk that is not reachable by any public web address. They are served only to you, and to authorised Trust staff, through access-checked links.
  • Access to candidate records inside the Trust is limited to staff whose role requires it, and administrative actions are written to an audit log.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We share it only with:

  • Partner colleges — only for candidates who qualify and who choose to proceed to counselling and admission, and only the details needed for that admission.
  • Our service providers — the payment gateway that processes your fee, and the email and SMS providers that deliver your one-time password and notifications. They may use your data only to perform that service for us.
  • Authorities — where we are required to by law, or to investigate examination malpractice or fraud.

How long we keep it

Examination records — your application, result, rank and scorecard — are retained permanently, because a scorecard is a credential that you or a college may need to verify years later. Payment records are retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law. Your photograph, signature and Aadhaar number are retained for the examination session and the admission cycle that follows it.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in and remembers your progress through the registration form, and one that protects our forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

You may ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, erase your data, or withdraw your consent. Write to the grievance officer below from the email address registered on your application. We respond within 30 days.

Erasing your data means your application and any result are cancelled and cannot be restored. Records we are required by law to keep, such as payment records, are retained even after an erasure request.

Children

Many PETET candidates are under 18. Where our records show a candidate is a minor, we require the details and consent of a parent or guardian at the time of registration, and we process that candidate's data only on the basis of that consent.
